The Twats from Washington, DC play straight up punk rock with a slight hardcore sound with a manic girl that goes by the name of Cuntess Twat handling the vocal duties. I’ve always heard of them from listening to The Goons but never really took the time to check them out, except for a demo that my brother has and to be honest I wasn’t really feeling it. However, this time around I caught myself tapping my feet and nodding along to the tracks. This stuff is a little more rocked out from what I remember and the lyrics definitely do it for me. The opening track, "YA, YA" is about how everything has been said but I’m going to say it anyway, the twat chant in the beginning is dope too. Overall, there’s a lot of tongue in cheek lyrics and songs, most of which are pretty standard fair but there’s enough humor and witty lines to keep your attention throughout the album. This girl sound harder than every girl pant wearing emo metalcore fruit in the continental USA. I would definitely pay money to see this girl beat the fuck out of them cum chasers. This release was enough to prompt me to check out some of their other stuff, but this was still the best, well except for the material they had on their split with Common Enemy. The recording is decent, dirty and raw which fits the band nicely but the bass didn’t have enough presence for my liking, especially considering the type of music that they play. Oh yeah, the cover art is banging. It features a cartoon illustration of a girl standing alongside the devil while he slides his devilish tail down her pants.

Rating: 3/5

Songs worthy of replay: YA, YA, Dance Party, USA

Thesis: Good, rocked out punk with a pissed off blonde who can probably beat your ass if you provoked her. Definitely worth checking out.
