The BreaksThe Breaks Get Saved Firestarter Records Jeff Karbow God damn, The Breaks from St. Louis, MO truly breath life back into the traditional hardcore sound. Just reading the lyrics and looking at the layout of this seven inch, looks like it came straight out of 1983. It’s like if Negative Approach were still around, that’s what listening to this is like, full of spite and midwest anger. These six songs come fast and hard, attacking everything from religion, skinheads, the government and fucking up unmercifully. These guys are pissed and they sure as hell aren’t afraid to let you know it. If you love the manic ride records discography, you’ll love this one.
Rating: 4/5 Songs worthy of replay: Breaking the bible belt, Shaved like an asshole
Thesis: Old school hardcore from front to back. The music rules, the lyrics rule, and the layout kicks ass.
