The Boils
World Poison
Thorp Records
This is a re-issue of the long out of print version that was originally released on Cyclone Records, with some slightly revamped artwork. I was siked about this because I had heard a lot from the Boils minus this album. Given some of the songs were on various comps, though some were slightly different versions. Plus, there's an additional track "Slavenation" that makes it's first full length appearance but was on an old comp put out by Skankin' Skull Records titled "It's better than a poke in the eye". If you're at all familiar with The Boils you know they put out quality street punk, and with this release you're getting that typical gritty Boil sound we've come to love. They shred though 16 tracks unmercifully with anthems galore. Can't even pick one standout because the whole album shreds. Shit you can throw on after a long day of arduous labor work and expel those working class demons. Just grab a beer, sing along and do the creepy crawl. Props to Thorp for digging out a treasure and bringing it back to the surface. If you enjoy Violent Society, The Unseen or the Dropkick Murphy's make this a priority to add this to your collection.
