The Blackspoon Brigade hail from South Jersey. You would think they called the Deep South their home though, with their mix of southern rock and sludge metal. This three-piece combine driving southern rock drumming with a wicked guitar concoction consisting of early 90's alternative rock (The Pixies, Faith No More) mixed with sludge metal (Corrosion Of Conformity, Crowbar) and a little Deep South (Lynyrd Skynyrd, Molly Hatchet) thrown in.

The vocals are growled and barked with an unsettling urgency that throws melody and continuity out the window. The four tracks on this demo are as original a sound you'll hear in music these days. At times The Blackspoon Brigade lay back and stroll along with their thick and dense groove, but that doesn't mean they won't step up with some more frenetic moments which is apparent on the song, 'The Last Straw'. The styles intertwined on this demo seem an unlikely mix but this CD manages to sound great through all four tracks.
