TerrorBy now there aren't many people that haven't heard of Terror; whether or not you're a hardcore veteran or the kid who spends his days at the local mall hounding Hot Topic workers to see when the new Avenged Sevenfold album is coming out. No need to bore anyone with a useless introduction.
When I first heard that these guys would be releasing an EP on Reaper Records I was a bit surprised. I thought Reaper Records would be putting out the vinyl version and some big label would be releasing the CD version. Obviously that isn't the case, so props to Terror for going with a small indie label.
This EP consists of 5 tracks, four or which are new songs; "Rhythm Amongst The Chaos", "Disconnected", "Vengeance Calls On You", "Arms of Truth" and a cover of Breakdown's "Kickback", which features some guest vocals from Vinnie Paz of Jedi Mind Tricks. There isn't much deviation from the typical song writing that Terror has employed for several albums. So quite honestly, I didn't find much enjoyment in listening to songs I've heard hundreds of times over. And Soctt Vogel's vocal approach surely hasn't changed much, the lyrics are pretty much more of the same, perhaps a bit more introspective with songs like "Disconnected" which is about being a outsider or the song " and the pain and joys of being on the road found in "Rhythm Amongst The Chaos".
The rest of the tracks are bit cliche in the lyrics if you ask me. The best song on the album is the cover of Breakdown, which is awesome. And as much as I love Vinnie and Jedi Mind Tricks, what was the point of him being on this song? All he did was introduce the song, no actual vocal performance to found, so I was pretty disappointed with that.
The album artwork is pretty fucking corny if you ask me. I mean it's just a picture of a lion with the band name and album name. I could've done that shit myself on Photoshop. And what the fuck does a lion have to do with the title of the record, someone tell me because I would really like to know.
