This is a reissue of the bands earlier material before they went on to sign with the now blasphemous Victory Records. It includes the All Things Change EP as well as the Design Your Fate EP, which are both out of print and I do believe both were re-mastered. I’m sure most people that would even be reading this is probably already well aware of these Orange County natives, I mean they’ve been on Victory for a few years now, so I’ll save the bio. When you listen to a lot of music spread across many styles and genres you really have to start weeding out the good from the bad because sadly, their just isn’t enough time in the day to listen to every single band that you come across. Metalcore is a great example, I have no idea how people could listen to nothing but metalcore, day after day because so many bands these days sound alike. Don’t get me wrong, I listen to a lot of metalcore but I think I would go crazy listening to all of the shitty half assed metalcore going around these days. I’d much rather listen to Overcast, Deadguy or some All Else Failed. Case in point, Scars of Tomorrow. I really never understood all the hype surrounding this band. They’re not playing anything that’s groundbreaking nor memorable, if anything they epitomize what kids hate about metalcore now. For starters their from Orange County, and seriously fuck that place for putting out more shitty metalcore albums than anywhere in the world (as well as the worst fucking show in TV history) and they have the melody intertwined with the crushing breakdowns thing going that everyone and their fucking mother has been doing since the turn of the decade. It was generic three years ago and it still is today. The production for the most part isn’t too shabby, the guitar has a well rounded sound but sometimes it gets way to nu-metal sounding for my liking. The drums sound strong, especially the double bass. The bass is deep, but for the more melodic parts I would’ve liked a little more of a brighter tone. But all in all, it sounds good from a production standpoint. The layout is solid, at least when you look at it you can tell what you’re getting, fairly generic metalcore.

Rating: 1.5/5

Songs Worthy of Replay: hmmm if I had to choose one....Design Your Fate

Thesis: If you’re already a fan of this band than by all means pick this up if you don’t have the two EP’s that I mentioned in the review because but if you’re looking for a new band to listen to I wouldn’t even bother getting started. Too generic, too cliche.
