Repercussion

And The Winner Is....
Spook City Records

One look at the cover and you get a good idea of what is band is all about.  One of Jersey's hardest and finest bands come full circle with their highly anticipated full length.  Previously they had released a demo and a split 7' with labelmates Driven by Fire.  Well, after many release dates being pushed back and many delays this album was well worth the wait.  Featuring ex-members of Sheer Disrespect and Paul Brown of Shattered Realm, this album delivers ferocity from start to finish.  Following the path that bands like Bulldoze, Clubberlang and Fury of Five had laid before them.  Sure Lyrical topics for tough guy hardcore are limited but when executed with sincerity and punishing choruses is a force to reckon with and a sight to behold.  Musically this album is full of great two step parts, pummeling breakdowns, and hard as hell verses.  Paul Brown's vocals fit the band like a perfectly taped pair of brass knuckles.  With songs like:  Sealed with a Fist, Jersey Style, and Helpless it's like getting hit in the face with a bat covered with nails.  Sure there is nothing groundbreaking here, but Repercussion put their stamp on hardcore with this effort.  As a bonus there's a cover of Floorpunch's "Let it Ride", demo tracks from Sheer Disrespect and even a rap song, which alone is reason enough to pick this up.  Another fine release from the folks other at Spookcity Records.
