Preminitions of War/ BENUMBLet it be known the concept and execution of this split was extremely lackluster. The recording is utter shit, on top of that, the two covers that POW did were terrible and sounded like a nasty shit after drinking too much Bud and eating too much hot wings. I mean come on Mississippi Queen and Born Under A Bad Sign? Must've had too much whisky while throwing around ideas for the split. Their two new songs are really the only thing worth mentioning, they're both short and brutal as fuck but the recording takes away a lot of it's thunder. Much better than any material they've done in the past. Which is a fucking shame because the songs are damn good. Really, a bad way to introduce their new singer Nick Johnson, however, his voice fits the new direction POW is going perfectly. So there's something to look forward to. They just need to get some more songs and much better recordings. Now for Benumb's side of things, eh. As I mentioned already, I dig Benumb but they could have done a lot better, plus the recording certainly didn't help any. Some of the songs are okay and others are totally forgettable. Free Trade Abolishment is a killer song though. As usual Pete's lyrics are well thought out and good food for thought. The layout idea was cool, the cover art is cool as fuck but the way the lyrics were printed is annoying as fuck. Although this thing is cheap, I wouldn't recommend buying this unless you're a HUGE fan of either band.
