No ImageI was able to check out Connecticut's No Image when they played the Government Issue Reunion show in Washington DC on September 23rd. In a live setting, I was highly impressed. I was sure to pick up their 4-Song Demo CD. Would their recordings measure up against their frenetic live show?
Of course seeing any good hardcore band live is always a more preferable environment. A hardcore show is an experience that both performer and audience can participate in. If you don't check your bands out live at a show when they come through your area, then you're not really into hardcore. Unfortunately, we can't go to a No Image show everyday. Yet we can listen to their CD every day like i have been since I saw them in DC.
For a demo, the sound is pretty good. It could be a little more beefy, however, it isn't weak in any sense. The songs are tight and the overall musicianship sounds nearly flawless. The vocals are crisp and delivered without constraint. No Image feature ex members of Up Front, The Spoilers and Disaster Party to name a few. They play straight forward New York Youth Crew-style hardcore. If you're into such bands as; Mouthpiece, Bold and Youth Of Today...you'll definitely dig this band!
Rating: 4.5/5
