These guys and gal are from Cape Town, South Africa, the home of Dave Matthews. Which is basically the best thing they got going for them. Because I'm sure they're huge there with very little bands that sound like them probably so it's fresh and when they leave Africa people will probably check them out because of their obscure location. I heard a track from these guys a long time ago, shit probably 4 years ago and it was a lot better than this, it actually had somewhat of a hardcore feel to it, with this album it's metalcore meanderings. It's got a lot of black metal influences and shit like that, swedish metalcore riffs, the whole nine yards. So halfway through this I started to get bored and started playing Madden. Well then I put it on again to listen to all the way through to give it a good assessment to write a review and just got bored to tears. I mean their are some cool riffs here and there, but no song is memorable. This whole release is forgettable, I mean it's like listening to 100 bands I've already heard before, but I guess they think they're still hardcore because they have the positivity in their religious message. Which essentially furthered my dislike for this release, mediocre metalcore with two guys screaming about jesus leading him on his path of righteousness is not my idea of a good listen. I mean they weren't even abstract with it to leave it for open interpretation. And then the only track that doesn't ooze with religious undertones, "You gotta death wish baby," is just utterly terrible, when one of the singers started softly speaking the words of the title I wanted to put my hand through the speaker and choke him. I mean maybe I'm being a bit harsh, naaaah. I mean they are capable of doing a lot better, their solid musicians, but they play a boring generic brand of metalcore. Next time around, lay off all the religious imagery and try to be a little more unique. Their breakdowns are pretty sweet though, that's about it for me. If they used the subtle melodies they interject into the songs a little more with more breakdowns and loss the black metal parts this would be a little better. But it'd still be generic. Just not my steez. But if you like Norma Jean and other bad metalcore bands you'd probably like this.

Thesis: It's alright, it's definitely metalcore with a Jesus twist, I usually don't hate on the christian core but it's a little too much with this offering. Every song is blatantly about god, religion, etc. I'm trying to listen to a hardcore/metalcore album not go to mass.
