Lighthouse Project/Satura Lanx
Come To Accept Split 7"
Brown/Deaf Forever Records

Split 7” record from two Finnish hardcore bands, released dually on Brown and Deaf Forever Records. Side A features 3 tracks from Lighthouse Project. This band is excellent at mixing up their Scandinavian and American influences. The vocals instantly bring to mind Refused while the guitars change-up between modern traditional hardcore such as Modern Life Is War and 90’s East Coast hardcore revivalists like American Nightmare. This release also showcases Lighthouse Project’s tremendous lyrics. Unlike most U.S. hardcore bands, these lyrics are very powerful and well written with or without music added. “My mouth is numb from talking about moving on”, hopefully Lighthouse Project do just that…keep talking and not move on.

Satura Lanx feature a more modern and metal-infused sound than Lighthouse Project. Right away I think of Botch and Coalesce. Metal induced guitars with screechy vocals like many metalcore bands use these days. Satura Lanx hail from Huittinen in Western Finland and contribute 2 tracks to this release. Like Lighthouse Project, their lyrics are very well written. “This song isn’t about the future, this song isn’t about the past. This song isn’t about the choices we make that will define our path.” With the choices this band has made so far, they are on the right path, just not quite there yet.

Rating: Lighthouse Project = 4/5; Satura Lanx = 2.75/5; Overall 3/5
Songs Worthy of Replay: ‘Rainbows Don’t Mean Shit’ & ‘Nothingness’
Synopsis: Satura Lanx’ contributions aren’t nearly as strong as Lighthouse Project’s, however, they’re still worth a listen and trump most current American metalcore bands. Lighthouse Project are another excellent Finnish band I recommend you check out. Both bands have full-length CD’s available also. I believe this record is available through Surprise Attack Records here in The States.
