Jesse Jaymz Acoustic Onslaught
One Man Crew
United Riot Records

Jesse Jaymz is a solo artist based out of Brooklyn, NY and proclaims his sound as "Bob Dylan on crack". I agree. But that's not to say this is a bad release by any means, it certainly won't be everyone's cup of tea, certainly not for those of you with vaginas. This guy had me in stitches, his lyrics are extremely childish and crude but that's what makes them so great.

There are seven songs in all and they are all relatively short, which is good because the lyrics wouldn't fill up more than 1-2 minutes tops. The man says what he has to say and is done with it. The guitar lines don't really differ much from the next and aren't groundbreaking achievements by any means but they are merely complimenting his tongue in cheek humor (although at points I wonder if he is actually serious haha).

How can you go wrong with fine tunes such as: One Man Crew, which serves as an introduction to the man known as Jesse Jaymz. Lick My Balls where he's pretty much telling you to lick his balls. Do I ever need to explain Fuck You Pig? Gold Digger is his finest lyrical moment on the tracks, truly a gold digger opus if there ever was one. Old No. 7 is Jesse's drinking jam. Smash Your Face is a fine bravado piece. Hail Jesse Jaymz sees Jesse letting the world know he is the best and his music is better then everyone else's.

The recording on this is certainly rough around the edges and considering it is just a guitar and vocals you would think it would be crystal clear. Wrong. That wouldn't be punk and dirty, and my friends Jesse Jaymz is dirty mother fucker.

This is what I would call a throwback album in terms of design and layout. No glossy sleeve, no colors just a simple black and white layout on stock copy paper. Now I know that doesn't sound appealing to many but fact is the drawings are enough to put my a smile on my face. The front cover has a drawing of Mr. Jesse Jaymz smacking dudes with his guitar with naked chicks floating around. The back is even better; it has a drawing for each song that summarizes the lyrical content. For instance the track "Lick My Balls" has a drawing of Jesse with his pants pulled down. Stupid shit but stupid shit is funny.

Rating: 3.7/5

Songs Worthy of Replay: Gold Digger and Lick My Balls

Synopsis: Take it for what is or don't bother. It's seriously one big fucking joke and if you can laugh at the stupider things in life you would enjoy this, I could only imagine what this dude is like live. For more information check out his myspace. http://www.myspace.com/jjao
