Everyday DollarsFrom the most renowned hardcore city comes Everyday Dollars, which features ex-members of Killing Time, The Uprise and Darkside NYC. This shit is straight up 88' sounding hardcore, it's intense and it's main objective is to get their point across by any means necessary. First off, I love the band name, it's a straight up blue collar working man name. I was really feeling this, the music is top quality and the lyrics are right on point with their message. It should really strike a nerve with anyone who takes their hardcore seriously. Especially the song "Back in The Day," which is basically letting all the people know who've been saying hardcore isn't what it used to be to make a difference and change it instead of pissing and moaning about it. And then you got a song like "Now It's Time," which is about no matter how hard shit was, or what he endured during his rough times at shows he still kept coming back, no matter what. So for the most part lyrically you get the standard fair in terms of hardcore messages but it's done effectively and sincerely, which is a lot more than most bands can claim. On to the production aspect of this release. I was really feeling the guitar tone, the drums sounded great, and the vocals were dialed in the mix just right, but something about the bass sound I wasn't feeling. The layout of this thing is straight fire, the copy I got was a preorder, it had one of those 3-D covers that came with the 3-D glasses they used to have when you were a young boy going to the movies and shit. It comes equipped with an insert with the lyrics and band info and shit. All in all, I would say the best concept and execution of a layout I've seen, by a small ass label nonetheless, you can tell they give a fuck about what they put out. And shit, there wasn't any typos either. Everything from top to bottom on this release meets my approval and then some, so get off your ass and cope this. Support a great band and a great up and coming label.
