Endless Fight

From the home of the old Winnipeg Jets, comes Endless Fight who play hardcore with a big metal influence but never forget where they came from. This band gets compared to Figure Four probably more than other band, musically they are extremely alike and plus they are Christian on top of it. But they don't push any of their religious beliefs in their songs, if they do it's very abstract, so that's good in my book. Regardless, Endless Fight is as hardcore as they come. Though the metallic aspects of their music is strong in their songwriting approach they manage to incorporate the more dancy parts of hardcore ala Terror and the fast paced verses of Madball. Whereas a lot of the more metallic hardcore bands lose sight of their hardcore roots, like Redline for instance, Endless Fight keeps their foothold strong. Back to the Front is an album that will catch on big in the harrdcore scene and beyond if people put an ear out. All of the ingredients are in place, now they just need to mixed up and served to the underground masses. The production is strong, the guitars have great tone, the drums were mixed effectively, the double bass keeps it from sounding too much like metalcore. The vocals were mixed in like a champ, enough presence without taking over the show. The bass has warm tone and holds everything together nicely. The layout is alright, nothing to write home about. It's very cliche, even for this genre of hardcore but hey what can you do. Bottomline, this is a strong release that is worthy of picking up with all those x-mas gift cards you just got.

Rating: 4/5

Thesis: Metallic hardcore that keeps it's roots intact and always know how to imply some melody when needed.

Songs worthy of replay: Back to the front and Running Short (which ends off on one of the most sick breakdowns of the year)
