Bring it On
Only the Strong Survive
Perfect Victim Records

Good ole blue collar hardcore, shit to listen to in the blazing sun as you sweat your ass off humpin' shit around. No fucking around, just a punch in the face is what you get from Bring It On. Oh yeah and you get 5 new songs, an added guitarist in Tom Backhand and "Pull The Plug" that was originally released on the Payback EP on the now defunct DFF Records. Bring It On play hardcore, REAL HARDCORE, they rely heavily on the sound of the old school with some new school elements. But none of the chug shit, breaks are limited to stompy sections. As far this record goes, the band made the right decision to make the title track the first to start it off, the song rips. This song definitely has a Killing Time-Raw Deal feel to it. And the next track Immoral Majority, tears through its short lived duration, kind of reminded of Slapshot. The lyrics for the song were weak though, I guess I just expect more because I was down with everything said on Payback. Could've done a lot better. However, I guess I'm just a sucker for songs like Sooner or Later, about needing college to get ahead and doing things that status quo way. Closing this off is "Pull the Plug," and has soon as I noticed it I remembered it being on Payback but for some reason I was expecting something about Terri Schiavo. I was wrong, musically there's a different sound than the old version, the lyrics are the same. The production on this sounds much more polished than their last effort "Payback." I liked the rawness of Payback, though this isn't nearly as raw it still displays vilifying intensity. However, the vocals aren't as strong as the previous this time around, they lost some of their furiousness. Well A389 Records was right, this definitely has influences from Sheer Terror, Breakdown and Killing Time, and hints of Slapshot. Another straight up bruiser from the city of B to the More.
