Las2T1Laughing5: the essential interview question....Whose in the band what do they play, and give a brief history of the band.
XstockwillenduX: ok well its Mike-guitar, Ricky-bass, Greg-guitar, Ryan-drums, and me (Dan on vox)
XstockwillenduX: we started like a year and a half ago not really doing too much as far as playing because we were all still in high school
XstockwillenduX: weve gone through a few different line ups and our guitarest Greg just joined the band last week, and hes working out even better than expected
Las2T1Laughing5: A perfect segway for the next, were any of you guys in previous bands?
XstockwillenduX: well yes we were but really none of great significance, Ricky was in this band called the black out, Greg is in this band called amongst theives, and the rest of us were in bands that never really went any where, and/or sucked
XstockwillenduX: haha i play in outbreak every now and then
Las2T1Laughing5: Them type of experiences help down the road I can imagine. Especially if you're in a band with no focus or direction and then when you get the chance you run with it.......Hows the scene in Haverhill, MA?
XstockwillenduX: Well......the scene was totally dead up untill two years when we started, actually the scene around here is comprised of a bunch of different towns called the merrimack valley....anyway
XstockwillenduX: so everything was low key since bands like ten yard fight, open up, and others had broken up. I think when we can along, we gave the kids something that they were just waiting for
Las2T1Laughing5: Any bands from the MA area that you want people to check out?
XstockwillenduX: ya theres alot of great bands from around here......besides the obvious, theres bands that range from death before dishonor, to my boys in amongst theives, shoot to kill are fuckin great, and the theres NH bands like drug test . Theres a ton of different styles of hardcore and everyone is starting to support all of them not just some

XstockwillenduX: ive never really heard cheech but i know madd kids jock them, i dig back of tha neck and i know the dudes in the band are awsome too
Las2T1Laughing5: What other genres of music you listen to? Name some artists.
XstockwillenduX: as far as hardcore I love all the NY shit like madball and breakdown and raw deal, top two bands for me are the cro-mags and biohazard. But i also love bands like have heart and verse, and older stuff like turning point, lifetime, all that good stuff.
XstockwillenduX: i also listen to alot of hiphop

XstockwillenduX: and of corse old metal dude...anthrax, slayer, metallica, nuclear assault

Las2T1Laughing5: It's better that way, hardcore is what I love but I'll listen to anything if it's good. I hate kids that won't listen to something because it's not hardcore.
XstockwillenduX: well the way i see it....the kids who only listen to hardcore are the ones who drop out madd quick because they get jaded on it
XstockwillenduX: you need to mix it up
Las2T1Laughing5: Definitely, it's actually pretty disgusting how kids get into hardcore for the wrong reasons and then get bored with in a year.
XstockwillenduX: totally man...plus i think if your in a band and only listen to hardcore you have nothing but that to draw from...then you sound EXACTLY like every band before you, i think the greatest HC bands are the ones who drew from metal or punk and even indie rock

Las2T1Laughing5: that it is, a lot of kids hate on that band but they're fucking retards. Usually the kids who don't have any balls I guess you could say. Its fucking rock with hip hop and hardcore breakdowns it's the shit. And since hip hop has come up, what's some of your favorite artists and all time favorite albums.

Las2T1Laughing5: NY has put out some of the most legendary releases: Organized Konfusion, Smif N Wessun.
XstockwillenduX: and thats because of the shit those dudes live/lived through
XstockwillenduX: thats why i like it because its fuckin so honest
XstockwillenduX: and honesty in music is hard to come by these days
Las2T1Laughing5: I feel hip hop and hardcore go hand in hand if its sincere. Because it's for the street kid. It's on a street level that kids should be able to relate to.

Las2T1Laughing5: What's available from Guns UP! like demos, shirts and shit that kids can snag up?
XstockwillenduX: well we released a 7in on rocket punch records (NH) and that is outta press and sold out. We got shirts and hoodies at shows and they should be available at 1917records.com soon. We are gonna have a new website up soon and merch will be on there too. And right now we have a three song demo for a buck and all three songs will be on an upcoming cd out on 1917
XstockwillenduX: we also got a tour this summer with shoot to kill and signs of hope
Las2T1Laughing5: How'd you hook up with 1917 Records and how does it feel to be the only East Coast band on the label haha?
XstockwillenduX: this dude who does alot of work on the label emailed us after he heard some tracks online and he was so siked that we said yes right away. The dudes at the lable are some of the best people i have ever met. Riley, Bo, calvin and martin are putting their all in and were doing the same on our end
XstockwillenduX: and its cool being the only east coast band on there because it just means theres more people for us to reach and more people that have never heard us yet. also Donnybrook is fuckin off the hook so theres enough right there
Las2T1Laughing5: yeah donnybrook is sick.......What's in the future for you guys?
XstockwillenduX: we got that tour at the end of july, and right when we get back in augest we goin to atomic in NY to record the new record for 1917, and well have some surprises coming your way
Las2T1Laughing5: Yeah I noticed you guys are recording at Atomic Studios which has put out a lot of quality shit. Was that a choice you guys made to go there?
XstockwillenduX: yea...riley asked us where we wanna go and he said that that would be perfect
XstockwillenduX: dude let me just say the songs we have for this record is off the fuckin hook
