DEATH BEFORE DISHONR

Jeff: all right, start this shit off simple....Who comprises Death Before Dishonor
Bryan: it's me Bryan on vocals, Erik on guitar, frankie on bass and dan on drums
Jeff: Give us a rundown on the history of DBD.
Bryan: we started in the spring of 2001...we released our "wartime" demo soon after that, in the fall of 2002 on Spook City Records, then we put out a split with our friends from North Carolina Nourish the Flame in the spring of 2003 on spook city records...
Jeff: Yeah, NTF is quality, you're releasing that split with True Til Death right?
Bryan: yea its our songs from the split as well as the true till death songs on one CD and that is actually available now..we are also doing the same thing with bonus demo tracks for filled with hate in Europe and that's going to be out in late spring of 2005
Jeff: Filled with Hate is definitely bringing some good music overseas......What does hardcore mean to you personally, and also for DBD?
Bryan: it's what I live for...it is my everything pretty much...in regular everyday life I don't mean a thing to this world but in hardcore I'm something and a part of something.
Jeff: to follow up with that, if you could pick one band that embodies hardcore to the fullest who would it be?
Bryan: it's hard to say...there are so many bands and different styles of bands right now as well as good "big" bands and good "smaller" bands that everyone helps make hardcore what is is today...so I guess I cant answer that...
Bryan: i don't think one band can define hardcore or embody it because it is whatever you make of it ya jnow
Jeff: Boston has always been home of many great bands, care to name some up and comers that people have overlooked?
Bryan: yea man bands like Colin of Arabia, cutthroat, Sherrie khan, back of the neck, and never look back people should be on the lookout for
Jeff: yeah isn't back of tha neck supposed to be dropping a new full length soon?
Bryan: yea they recorded and mixed it, i guess it's in the process of being released
Jeff: What's your opinion on all the negative feedback Boston Beatdown2 has gotten from a lot of oversensitive kids and press?
Bryan: well everyone has a right to their opinion so whatever...we figured a lot of people may not see eye to eye with it but that's what makes us
Jeff: What's the band got planned for the new year?
Bryan: well we go on a US tour march into April and then we will be releasing our true till death CD in Europe on filled with hate records so hopefully heading over there at some point
Jeff: What were you favorite releases of 2004?
Bryan: TERROR
Jeff: You did some vocals on Cheech-Five Across the eyes, how'd you hook up with them boys?
Bryan: yea man we have been friends with those dudes for a long time, so they asked me to come up and do some vocals
Jeff: What's your opinion on the explosion of attention metal/hardcore has received on outlets like MTV2?
Bryan: i think it has good aspects and bad ones too. it gives bands a lot more exposure but at the same time there is a lot of different kinds of kids at shows that really don't understand what it's all about. it takes away from the "underground" aspect of hardcore ya know
Jeff: If you guys were offered the chance to do a video for MTV2 would you?
Bryan: i think so, it would be a cool experience
Jeff: I guess that's it, feel free to throw in some shoutouts, plugs or some fuck you's.
Bryan: hahaha thanks for the interview and everyone should check out the new CD coming out February 22nd on bridge 9 records
